Well, it is here. Homecoming 2013. There will be a parade, tail gate competition, sales galore downtown and of course, the football game (vs. Michigan, Saturday, 5PM). I'm very excited, and well...
I am a little jealous of the PSU homecoming experience. My alma-mater hosts a homecoming every year. I have never gone. None of my college friends have ever gone. It isn't that we don't love the college we attended, I am very proud to be a PhilaU Ram (so is Pat Chambers).
The thing is, when I was in school the only way I knew it was homecoming is that there would be a group of about 150 people, mostly older gentlemen in grey suits, that would show up to watch the soccer game on Saturday morning in a big white event tent with the deans. The dining hall would pull out all the stops for brunch, and I would continue with my day which usually ended up in the sewing lab:
I am not complaining. I am glad I live here now. I am thrilled that I can experience all the glory of a huge university's homecoming even though I attended a school who's entire student body rivals the population of Nittanyville two days before Saturday's big game.
Oh and the suit (I did say "suit up" after all!)--
My original design; Linen with peek-a-boo embellishment; Exaggerated high waist pants, and cropped jacket.
