This year has been a whirlwind. It was last June when I made the decision and started the process to make Restitch Studio my full time endeavor. A lot has happened since then and I have gotten to do many, many alterations as well as a few original pieces and redesigns.
We have made the decision that to continue to grow, improvements are needed in my studio. So in the month of June, renovations will be happening! A door will be put directly into my studio, eliminating the need to wind through the house. This is especially great for the winter time when snow and slush can be problematic (I will spend more time sewing and less time cleaning!) Of course, putting in a door where there was once a window means that I need to completely reorganize and rearrange the studio as well.
On one hand, this is very positive, and means a new, improved and more efficient working space. The drawback (there is always at least one of those) is that the studio will need to be closed to make the necessary changes.
I will be moving forward with the alterations that I already have as well as any more that are currently scheduled, and will have them all wrapped up by early-mid June. Then, I will be closed until the completion of the renovation/reorganizing project, which will take until the end of June. Look for me to be accepting new clients again in early July.
I am very excited to be taking this next step and look forward to not only seeing the project comeplete, but seeing the reaction of my clients to the improvements! As a refresher, here is the before:
